Installation
The earlier versions of the Roco NS 2200 don't have a dcc socket so
some work has to be done to install a decoder. I installed a Lenz
LE1024 in my brown NS 2210. In this particular installation I
removed the front printed circuit board. I put the LE1024 in place
of the board with some piece of double sided tape. All the wires
are hooked up to the other remaining board. The original board also
had the light, for the front lights. I placed a small light bulb,
with connected wires, in the front area of the locomotive. This
will take care of the lights.
After this page was up for more than a year I got some questions about the wiring. Here is
a top view that shows the location of the decoder and the wires from the decoder to the printed
circuit board.
A detailed view of the printed circuit board, that shows the various wires coming
from the decoder.
In the upper right corner I've isolated a small piece of the pcb so it could be used for the headlight (white wire). Also the base of the existing light was isolated, small trace is visible just above the white wiring. This base is used for the blue wire, the black wire that connects there as well is for the headlight.
