Introduction

In the early passengers cars were made of wood. In Norway steel based passenger cars were introduced after WW2. The wooden based cars were in use well into the late 1970's. Some have been preserved and are in used by NJK or some of the museum lines. In the 1990's a museum train was running on the Rauma line in the summer.

In 2023 the Norsk Jernbaneklubb (NJK) published a book that describes the trevogner (wooden passenger cars) in detail.

Roco has made a few versions of the classic Norwegian passenger car. This has been the basis for small series by Bergen Modelljernbane, NMJ, Collector Modell and others. The standard Roco model has a very plastic look. The small series by the other players typically have been changed to a very teak/wood look.

As these cars have been used on the Rauma line I have a few cars in my collection and this page describes these cars.
